Tonight, two of the most storied high school football programs in South Florida history meet for the first time, as St. Thomas Aquinas and Miami Northwestern face off under the lights at Sun Life Stadium. Both teams are ranked in the top five of the Miami Herald’s South Florida high school football top 20 poll, with St. Thomas being ranked 9th nationally in the USA Today Super 25 poll.

Tonight, the Miami Hurricanes kick off the 2013 college football season when they host in-state foe Florida Atlantic University. This meeting will mark the first-ever matchup between the two schools. At halftime, the 1983 Miami Hurricanes National Championship Team will celebrate their 30th Anniversary, with legendary coach Howard Schnellenberger in attendance. Important times to remember for this evening’s game:

“BankUnited Club Level” Represents First-Time Naming of Club Level
MIAMI LAKES, Fla. (August 29, 2013) – BankUnited, a proud corporate partner of the Miami Dolphins, recently unveiled new signage at Sun Life Stadium designating the Club Level area as the “BankUnited Club Level.”
On Thursday, August 29, the Miami Dolphins and BankUnited held an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil the new BankUnited Club Level signage. Attending on behalf of the Miami Dolphins were Jim Rushton, chief revenue officer; ? Nat Moore, senior vice president/special advisor; Bob Lynch, vice president of corporate partnerships & integrated media; and Danielle Sergeant, senior director of client services.

Miami, FL – The Miami Dolphins announced today that the organization will pick up the cost for service fees on tickets starting today through 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, September 3 in appreciation for the support of our fans during training camp. The special offer through Labor Day Weekend is available exclusively at Dolphins.com. This includes all single game tickets, three-game plans and more. The fan-friendly promotion will eliminate the processing/convenience fees, credit card fees and standard delivery costs associated with the costs of purchasing a game ticket.

On September 14 and 15, the inaugural Florida Soccer Expo will be coming to Sun Life Stadium. The expo combines a trade show, indoor soccer tournament, coaching clinics and interactive soccer areas with attractions for all members of the soccer community, including fans, coaches, referees, exhibitors, soccer youth clubs and their families.
A youth 3-on-3 soccer tournament for boys and girls ages 6-14 will be held over the two days featuring the top local youth players and club teams. The tournament will be played across six specially designed indoor fields, which will be located at the 100-level of the stadium.
This week, Sun Life Stadium is helping kick off the 2013 football season by hosting three football games in three days.
On Thursday, August 29, the Miami Dolphins host the New Orleans Saints in their fifth and final test of the 2013 NFL preseason. This game marks last chance for players to make an impression on the coaches before rosters are reduced to 53 men on Saturday evening, as the team heads into the regular season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm.
