The Atlantic Coast Conference announced that the University of Miami’s October 5th game against Georgia Tech will kickoff at 3:30 pm at Sun Life Stadium. The 15th ranked Miami Hurricanes (4-0) are coming off of yesterday’s 49– 21 victory over the University of South Florida at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Georgia Tech comes into the game with a record of 3-1 after falling to Virginia Tech last Thursday night by a score of 17-10. Tickets for this Saturday’s contest are available for purchase here.
The US Drift Circuit returns to Sun Life Stadium on Saturday, September 28. For the third time in 2013 they will be bring another round of high-speed drift racing, a car show, and live musical performances. “Sliding into the Sunset” will host the top local drivers in drift racing as they compete on both solo and tandem tracks simultaneously outside of Sun Life Stadium. The car show, presented by Braggenrites, will feature cars of all makes and models, from classics to the latest designs.
It was a busy weekend at Sun Life Stadium with both the Miami Hurricanes and Miami Dolphins playing home games within a 24 hour span. Saturday, September 21st 1:00 pm: As the RV parking lot of Sun Life Stadium opens, and the first tailgaters begin to arrive to watch the 16th ranked Miami Hurricanes host the Savannah State Tigers in the first ever meeting between the two schools, preparations on the field are already underway for the evening’s game.
After playing their first two games on the road, the Miami Dolphins return to South Florida with a 2-0 record and are set to host the Atlanta Falcons in the 2013 home opener on Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:05 pm. As a part of the Kids Kickoff, all kids in attendance will receive a free Miami Dolphins Fathead. Families will also have the opportunity to go down to the field following the game. All fans in attendance will also receive a commemorative ticket.
The 16/17th ranked Miami Hurricanes host Savannah State University on Saturday, September 21st, in the first meeting between the two schools. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm. The Hurricanes opened the 2013 season with two consecutive victories at home over Florida Atlantic University and the University of Florida. The Savannah State Tigers come into Saturday’s matchup with a 1-2 record. The Miami Dolphins have selected Michelle Bernstein as the recipient of the NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award. The NFL and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) have partnered for the third annual NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Awards during the 2013 celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The awards recognize the contributions of Hispanic leaders in each NFL market. The Dolphins will honor Bernstein on September 22 at their Hispanic Heritage game against the Atlanta Falcons. Michelle Bernstein, a Miami native, is a successful Chef and restaurant owner, co-host and community activist.

The financial services organization awarded $220,000 in grants and scholarships to four nonprofit community organizations: Casa Valentina, ChildNet, New Horizons of Southwest Florida and Urban Youth Impact, as well as exemplary students nominated by each nonprofit: Kimberly Sandino, Vanessa Civil, Angel Lopez and Rachelle Battle.
