The championship rounds of the 2nd annual Battle of the Badges 7-on-7 flag football tournament was held at Sun Life Stadium on Sunday, January 19th. Teams consisted of local police and fire departments from throughout South Florida. Fourteen teams competed in the all-day tournament on the field as friends and families gathered to cheer on the men and women who protect serve our South Florida community. In the end, it was the Boynton Beach Fire Rescue team that edged out Palm Beach County Fire Rescue in the finals to earn the crown.

Grab your friends! The Color Me Rad 5K comes to Sun Life Stadium this Saturday, February 1st. The 5K takes runners on a fun course around the stadium while being doused in color. All runners who participated in the Color Me Rad 5K will receive a RAD participant T-shirt, Color Me Rad sunglasses, RAD tattoo, race bib and “color bomb.” At the finish line, runners will enjoy live music, food and fun, and will also receive their color packets, where they will have the opportunity to cover fellow runners with a plethora of colors.
The University of Miami released their 2014 football schedule today, which features seven home games at Sun Life Stadium. The Miami Hurricanes will start the 2014 campaign at Louisville before returning to South Florida for their home opener on September 6th against Florida A&M. Miami’s home games includes; Florida A&M (Sept. 6), Arkansas State (Sept. 13) , Duke (Sept. 27), Cincinnati (Oct. 11), North Carolina (Nov. 1), Florida State (Nov. 15) and Pittsburgh (Nov. 29). This year’s walk starts on the field before going out and around the stadium and finishing in the Grand Plaza, where there will be fun activities and entertainment for the entire family. Those who are looking to participate in the event have the opportunity to start or join a team to help raise funds for this great cause.
NEW YORK, NY (Wednesday, January 16, 2013) — Relevent Sports today announced that the English national team will face Ecuador on Wednesday, June 4 (3 p.m., ET) and Honduras on June 7 (4:45 p.m., ET) with both matches taking place at Miami’s Sun Life Stadium. The matches will be part of England’s final preparations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup where it will open against Italy on June 14 in Manaus, Brazil. Ticket information for both matches along with unique fan packages for England’s stay in South Florida will be announced in the near future.
The 2nd Annual Miami Beer Festival comes to Sun Life Stadium for the first time on Saturday, February 1st. The Miami Beer Festival will be held on the field and will feature more than 50 breweries from across the nation including; Sweetwater (Atlanta, Ga), Breckenridge (Denver, CO), Goose Island (Chicago, Il) and Green Flash (San Diego, CA). In addition to the national breweries, many local favorites will be in attendance including Funky Buddha Brewery, the Wynwood Brewing Company and Due South Brewing.
