Miami Dolphins team up with Kangaroo TV on a Full-Year Trial of
NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ In-Stadium by DirecTV
Handheld Device Will Bring Games, Stats, To Fans At Dolphin Stadium
Miami, FL, Sept. 24 - The Miami Dolphins have been selected by the NFL to participate in a full year market test of NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ In-Stadium by DIRECTV, a unique service that allows fans to watch live coverage of every NFL game from their seat at Dolphin Stadium, using the Kangaroo TV hand-held device.
The service debuted at Dolphin Stadium on Sunday, September 24, and will be commercially available at each additional Dolphins regular season game played on Sunday afternoons.
With this technology, fans can see live, full-length coverage of any NFL game while at the stadium, just like with the popular NFL SUNDAY TICKET home service. The Kangaroo TV device, which fits in the palm of a hand, also enables fans to scroll through real-time fantasy statistics or watch the network television broadcast of the Dolphins home game (NFL blackout restrictions apply).
Kangaroo TV’s technology is already popular with fans in motorsports, and was successfully tested at a Dolphins game last season.
NFL SUNDAY TICKET In-Stadium by DIRECTV is available on each gameday in the Dolphin Stadium parking lot so that fans can enjoy the service while tailgating, as well as in their seats. Programming will start each Sunday at 12 noon with the Fox and CBS pre-game shows, and continue for more than 7 hours until the last Sunday afternoon game ends. The service is limited to the stadium area, creating a unique viewing experience fans can control.
Rental kiosks are situated in the Dolphin Stadium parking lot (Gate H) and stadium concourse (inside gate F on the 100 level), and fans have a choice of renting a Kangaroo TV device for one game or the entire season.
“We knew as soon as we saw this technology that we wanted to offer it to our fans,” Joe Bailey, CEO of Dolphins Enterprises, said. “This is a perfect fit with our mission to improve the fan experience at Dolphin Stadium through the implementation of new technology, enhanced customer service and wholesome entertainment,” added Bailey. “Fans will really get a totally interactive NFL experience, both being at the game and being able to follow every other NFL match-up.”
