Opening Day Tips And New Experiences For Florida Marlins Fans At Dolphins Stadium
MIAMI GARDENS - Florida Marlins fans attending Opening Day will notice several new and improved experiences at Dolphins Stadium as well as some location changes due to the Stadium Improvement Project. Among the most noticeable changes are the world’s largest hi-definition video boards that will be operational for the first time during a game, new field turf and wall pads, general painting throughout the inner bowl, and more food choices including the new "Dolphin Dog," a foot-long Hebrew National Kosher dog Fans will also notice the stadium undergoing construction as work has begun.
To help fans enjoy Opening Day and locate areas of interest that may have temporarily moved due to the Stadium Improvement Project, Dolphins Stadium will be distributing a 2006 Official Fan Guide to fans entering the stadium. Additional guides will be available at the Guest Services booths throughout the facility. An online version is available at www.dolphinsstadium.com.
Fans should follow the tips below to make Opening Day more enjoyable:
Parking:
- Parking Gates will open three hours prior to game time
- Disabled parking can be accessed through Gate 4 and 7 (proper state-issued parking placard required)
- General parking is $10; commercial vehicles and limousines $20. R.V. and bus parking $20. Please have correct change available.
- ’To help expedite entrance into the Stadium, season ticket holders must have their parking pass displayed, and if paying by cash, exact change will be helpful.
- Preferred Pass holders can access the Stadium through special express entrances at Gate 1A on the east side of the Stadium, Gate 4 off NW 199th Street, and Gate 7 on the east side of the Stadium. Preferred Pass holders can enter through any parking Gate. Gates 1A, 4 and 7 are set up for faster access.
- Valet parking for Club Level, Premium Clubs, and Executive Suites will open two hours prior to game time. Valet parking will be available at Gates C, and G.
Changes due to the Stadium Improvement Project:
- Ticketmaster Will Call has been temporarily relocated to Gate F
- Player and Staff Will Call is at Gate F
- Game-day Ticket Sales window are located at Gate F and G
- Future Game/Advance Sales are located at Gate F and G (until 5th Inning)
- Future Game/Advance Sales inside the Stadium are located in Section 149, Section 249 (until 7th Inning)
- ADA Ticket Services can be found at Gate G (inside counter
- Gates C and G are temporarily closed due to construction
- Stars and Stripes Military Program is located at Gate F and H
- Guest Services/Lost & Found is located in Section 156 (and also Section 456 for games when upper deck is open)
New and Improved at Dolphin Stadium:
- World’s largest and second largest hi-definition video boards
- New field turf and improved drainage system to help drain water faster after heavy downpours
- New outfield wall pads, painted warning track and repaired seats throughout the stadium
- New "Dolphin Dog", a foot-long Hebrew National kosher hot dog
- "Una Mezcla Buena" concession stand at Section 141 serving chicken and beef empanadas, "Jamaican Jerk Chicken", "Mojo Pulled Pork, "Papa Rellenas" and other Caribbean delicacie
- "Mile High" corned beef or pastrami sandwich" with thinly sliced, warm and lean corn beef or pastrami piled high
- "All-American" hamburgers, hand-made half-pound burgers with your choice of cheese
- More fresh sandwiches and packaged for "on-the-go"
- "Edy’s Pints" and assorted gourmet candies
To avoid delays at the Gate, and for the safety of all guests, the following items are prohibited:
- Alcohol
- Bags, backpacks, plastic grocery bags, and purses that exceed 14" x 14" x 8"
- Bottles, cans, thermoses, coolers, hard containers, umbrellas, strollers, footballs, poles, brooms, cameras with lenses exceeding 8", noise makers and laser pointers
- Any other item deemed dangerous or inappropriate
