We are now just eight days away from Soulfrito, The Urban Latin Music Festival, making its debut at Sun Life Stadium. Founded in 2002, Soulfrito is the nation’s longest running annual Urban Latin music festival, featuring popular and emerging talents within Urban, Latin, Pop and EDM genres. This year’s festival will begin at 2:00 pm of February 22nd.
The 2014 edition of the Soulfrito Urban Latin Music Festival will be headlined by Nas, Don Omar and Busta Rhymes.
A native of Queens, New York, Nas had released eight consecutive platinum or multi-platinum albums and has six number one albums on the Billboard 200. Currently working on his 12th studio album, Nas was ranked fourth on MTVs “Hottest MCs in the Game” list in 2013.
Latin Grammy Award winning, Puerto Rican artist Don Omar comes to the Soulfrito Music Festival after 2013 saw him receive a record 18 nominations at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, ten of which he won, including Song Artist of the Year. Simply referred to as El Rey (“The King”), Don Omar will bring reggateon style to the stage at Sun Life Stadium.
Busta Rhymes career has spanned over 20 years, during which he has been nominated for 10 Grammy Awards. His tenth studio album is due out later this year.
In addition to the headlining artisan, live musical performances will feature: Victor Manuelle, Juicy J, El Torito, Sensato, Plan B, Calma Carmona, DJ Camilo, DJ Enuff, DJ Africa and Mr. Pauer.
Past artists that have used the Soulfrito Music Festival as a launching pad for their career include Aventura, City High and Pit Bull.
