icc_580x360MIAMI GARDENS, FL (February 4, 2014) – Relevent Sports, a division of RSE Ventures, today unveiled the full lineup of marquee teams participating in the 2014 Guinness International Champions Cup, the second year of the fiercely contested eight team soccer extravaganza taking place this summer in cities across the United States from July 26 to August 4.  The announcement of the participating legendary clubs and previous champions in the 2014 tournament further bolsters an already critically acclaimed tournament.

Eight teams are participating in the highly anticipated summer tournament including international club teams from Spain, England, Italy and Greece.  Following is a list of all participating teams, led by the 2013 Guinness International Champions Cup defending champions from Spain*:

  • AC Milan
  • AS Roma
  • Inter Milan
  • Liverpool FC
  • Manchester City
  • Manchester United
  • Olympiacos

This year’s Guinness International Champions Cup teams are home to many of the world’s top players as well as the most storied and successful European clubs.  The eight teams feature five of the 2013-2014 23 Ballon D’or nominees, including the winner, Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as 38 of the world’s top 100 players as chosen yearly by renowned English magazine 4-4-2.  Furthermore, the eight participating teams have won a total of 150 domestic league titles, 88 domestic cup titles, 27 UEFA Champions League titles and make up five of the current UEFA Champions League Round of 16 participants, making this the largest collection of soccer star-power ever in the U.S.

“Year one of the Guinness International Champions Cup set the new gold standard for soccer in the United States,” said Charlie Stillitano, Relevent Sports CEO. “Our only goal was to provide fans with the best football experience in their own backyards.  The energy and excitement throughout the tournament, especially at Sun Life Stadium for Real Madrid vs. Chelsea was unlike any game we have ever seen in the States and we look forward to building on these successes in 2014.”

Teams are divided into two groups for round-robin play.  All teams will play at least three matches in the tournament with the winner of Group A and Group B, based on point total, meeting in the finals.  Fans can look forward to learning more about the specific matchups, dates, groups and venues on Thursday, Feburary 20th.  Further details about the Guinness International Champions Cup can be found at www.internationalchampionscup.com.

Exclusive presale tickets for the Miami final contest will be available beginning today, February 4 at 10AM ET while general public will have access to tickets February 6 at 10AM ET.  All individual group play match tickets will be available beginning February 25 at 10AM ET.  Additionally, this year fans will have the opportunity to purchase an Ultimate Fan Pack which includes one supporters section ticket, team gear and priority access to select team training.  Also available are VIP Team Travel Packs that allow fans to experience the games alongside their favorite teams, providing VIP tickets, charter travel and world-class accommodations to all of their teams’ Guinness International Champions Cup games.  All tickets and packages are available at www.internationalchampionscup.com.   The Guinness International Champions Cup is also proud to partner with Vivid Seats, the official ticket reseller for the tournament.  Vivid Seats will provide access for fans to buy and sell premium tickets to all matches including the Finals.

The tournament will be seen in countless countries across the world and will be played throughout July and August, culminating August 4 once again at Sun Life Stadium in Miami.  Official network partners FOX will televise the entirety of the tournament’s 13 matches live on FOX, FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2, culminating with the championship contest on Aug. 4 at 8PM ET.  Internationally, Sky Sports will broadcast the Guinness International Champions Cup live exclusively in the UK & Ireland while future media rights deals will be announced over the coming weeks.
