Food Truck Invasion Comes to Sun Life Stadium This Sunday

Food-Truck-Invasion-600x300Food trucks will invade Sun Life Stadium on October 20th for the inaugural Miami Dolphins Food Truck Competition presented by Food Truck Invasion. Before the Miami Dolphins face off against the Buffalo Bills this Sunday, five local food trucks will compete and cook up their best tailgate dishes.

Featured trucks include Pescados Unidos, Cheeseburger Baby, Ms. Cheezious, Los Chamos and Miami Press. Fans can sample bites and vote for their favorites from 9 am until kickoff in the Gate E parking lot.

Pescados Unidos, led by the culinary team of Kevin and Georgianna Dreifuss, Jason McGrath and Joe Galetti is the Home of Miami’s Original Fish Sausage. Serving a wide range of Caribbean inspired cuisine, their menu features offerings from Blackened Fish Sausage to Ceviche and Crab Taquitos.

The Cheeseburger Baby food truck is a branch off of the long-time South Beach restaurant bearing the same name. The brick and mortar restaurant, which is known as “The Very First Cheeseburger Restaurant on South Beach,” is a late night favorite amongst visitors and locals, whose menu features a variety of burgers and sides.

Founded by Brian and Fatima Mullins, Ms. Cheezious is already the winner of many awards, including the honor of being named the “Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival Best Food Truck Miami.”  Their menu allows patrons to build their own grilled cheese or pick from the many “Ms. Cheezious Must Haves”, such as the “Grilled Harvest” or “Crabby Cheese Melt,” and various daily specials.

Los Chamos has been supplying Miami with fresh Venezuelan cuisine since 2011.  Specializing in made-to-order arepas and empanadas (the daily menu has a choice of 13 different arepas and 9 empanadas); their menu also features some unique items such as cachapa and poutine.

Rand and Chris, who have spent most of their culinary careers cooking for celebrities, started Miami Press, which specializes in gourmet sandwiches.  Their menu features sandwiches ranging from the “Turkey Cranberry Press” and “Spicy Meatball Press” to the “Kogi BBQ Press.”
