Match Guide: Brazil Vs. Honduras

On Saturday, Brazil makes their first appearance in Miami in over ten years as they take on fellow 2014 World Cup qualifier Honduras at Sun Life Stadium.  The match is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm.

Brazil, who automatically qualified for the 2014 World Cup because they are the host, comes into Saturday’s match having won four of their previous five matches.
The Brazil roster includes international stars such as Neymar, David Luiz, Dani Alves, Marcelo, Hulk and Robinho and features a total of 14 players from the team that won the 2014 FIFA Confederations Cup in June.  Fourteen of the players also currently play for European clubs taking part in the 2013-14 UEFA Champions League.

Honduras qualified for the 2014 World Cup following their 2-2 draw against Jamaica on October 16th, finishing in third place in the CONCACAF region.  In their previous five matches, Honduras has a record of 2-2-1.

The Honduras roster, led by Roger Espinoza and Carlo Costly also features Maynor Figeroa and Wilson Palacios.  The roster also includes many current and former players from Major League Soccer including Victor Bernardez, Marvin Chavez, Jerry Bengtson and Boniek Garcia.

The following are important times for Saturday’s game:

Parking Lots open at 3:00 pm

Stadium Gates open at 5:30 pm

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm

 

Cash Parking for cars will be  $20.

 

Sun Life Stadium is committed to ensuring the fan experience is second to none, and the safety of our guests is essential to maintaining this experience.  As a result, the NFL Bag Policy that is in effect for Miami Dolphins and University of Miami football games at Sun Life Stadium will also be in place for the Brazil-Honduras Soccer Match this Saturday.

Below is important information about the bag policy.

  • Each fan may enter the Stadium with one (1) bag that is clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and does not exceed 12” by 6” and 12” or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar);
  • In addition to one of the clear bags noted above, fans may also carry in a small clutch bag or purse approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap;
  • An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at Gate E designated for this purpose;
  • Diapers and wipes can be carried in a clear bag. Each member of a family, including children, will be able to carry an approved clear bag and a clutch purse, providing ample storage capacity.

Items such as smart phones, binoculars and cameras will still be permitted into the Stadium. This policy is meant to speed up the process of entering the stadium along with increasing security measures.

Sun Life Stadium is committed to protecting public safety.  This is an important step in achieving that.  Additional information on the NFL bag policy which the Stadium will be using for the match can be found at NFL.com/allclear.
