Miami Gardens – Sun Life Stadium and Congo de Oro Productions are proud to announce that they have entered into a long-term partnership with the Colombian Independence Festival. The 25th annual Colombian Independence Festival takes place on Sunday, July 21, from 1pm – 11pm, at Sun Life Stadium.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Colombian Independence Festival, Miami’s largest paid Latin American Event, will once again bring together the most celebrated musical acts in Latin music, ranging from Salsa, Merengue, Reggaetón, Cumbia, Latin-pop, Electronic Dance & Vallenato, for the purpose of celebrating Colombia’s Independence Anniversary.
On Sunday, July 21, the festival will feature a headlining lineup of artists on the main stage including Jorge Celedón, Grupo Niche and Fonseca; other featured artists include Silvestre Dangond, Zacarías Ferreira and Plan B. The will also have an Electronic Dance Music tent, which will be headlined by internationally renowned DJs Erick Morillo and Robbie Rivera.
The Festival also includes a soccer match inside Sun Life Stadium, featuring the Colombian Club team Millonarios Futbol Club and Club Deportivo Olimpia from Honduras, scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21. Millonarios, is one of three teams to play every game in the Colombian First Division, and has won 14 first division titles, more than any other club in Colombia. Recently, Millonarios has competed in the 2007 & 2012 version of Copa Sudamericana. Currently, they are taking part in Copa Libertadores 2013, the most prestigious club tournament in South America. Club Deportivo Olimpia of Honduras is the most popular and successful first division club from Honduras, having won 26 league championships, including the 2012-2013 edition. They are also the only Honduran club to win the CONCACAF Champions Cup twice.
Over the years, visitors from various parts of the country have transformed this event into a grand celebration, uniting all Hispanic communities of South Florida and elsewhere. More than 25,000 people are expected to attend this exciting event that will include amusement park rides and games for children as well as several different vendors providing various crafts and wares.
Advance ticket prices are $30. Advance tickets for the private VIP area adjacent to the stage are $50. Children 10 and under are free. Parking is free.
