The Colombian Independence festival featured live musical performances, amazing food, as well as fun and games for the entire family. The main stage was filled with great entertainment throughout the course of the day, and fans packed around the stage to see their favorite artists including Kenny Williams, Plan B, Zacarias Ferreira, Fonseca, Silvestre Dangond, Grupo Niche and Jorge Celedon.  The final performance by Celedon, was followed by a fireworks display.

During the course of the performances, the Miami Dolphins hosted “Football Fiesta” as contestants competed in various activities to win tickets to a Miami Dolphins home game during the 2013 season.

In addition to the performances on stage, the Colombian Festival featured a wide variety of dining options from local restaurants featuring Latin and South American fare as well as a children’s area. The children’s area featured rides and games for kids of all ages, including inflatables and a zip line.

Inside Sun Life Stadium, soccer fans were treated to a match featuring CD Olimpia of Honduras and Millonarios FC of Colombia.  CD Olimpia won the match by a score of 2-1 after Jairo Puerto Herrera scored the game winning goal in the 76th minute with a diving header.

In conjunction with the Colombian Festival, Sun Life Stadium also played host to the Independance Music Festival.  The music festival was held in an electronic music tent, and featured world renowned DJ’s including Robbie Rivera, Cedric Gervais and Erick Morillo.
